Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup salted butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pitted dates
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9X13 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and both sugars. Beat in eggs one at a time. Beat in vanilla.
  • Add flour mixture and beat until well blended. Gently fold in chopped dates and nuts.
  • Spread batter evenly into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool completely on rack and then slice into bars.
