Garlic Shrimp with Broccoli My family and I love to eat seafood. Shrimp is one of our favorites and I have shared some of our shrimp recipes in the past such as Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp and Shrimp with Lemon Garlic Sauce. This garlic shrimp with broccoli dish is no exception. We loved the perfectly cooked shrimp and broccoli in the delicious sauce. Best of all, it’s easy, simple and ready in under 30 minutes. Garlic Shrimp with Broccoli The flavorful sauce which consists of soy sauce, chicken stock, sesame oil, rice vinegar and honey is definitely the star of this dish. After preparing the sauce, the shrimp is cooked, removed from the pan and set aside. Then, the broccoli is cooked along with the aromatics. It is important not to overcook the shrimp and broccoli. The result was a delicious dish with crisp tender broccoli and soft and juicy shrimp. Yum!

Cooking Tips for Perfect Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

To achieve the best results with this garlic shrimp and broccoli dish, timing is everything. Start by making the sauce first so it’s ready when you need it. A good tip is to have all your ingredients prepped and measured out before you start cooking. This way, you can focus on the cooking process without scrambling around for ingredients. For the shrimp, look for ones that are either fresh or properly thawed if frozen. Deveining them is essential for texture and taste. When cooking, don’t overcrowd the pan, as this can lead to steaming instead of searing. Cook the shrimp in batches if necessary. For the broccoli, a quick blanching in boiling water for a minute before adding it to the pan can help maintain its vibrant color and crunch. Finally, keep an eye on the cooking time. The shrimp should only take a few minutes per side to cook perfectly. If they turn pink and opaque, they are done.

Serving Suggestions and Variations

This garlic shrimp with broccoli dish is versatile and can be served in various ways. For a hearty meal, serve it over steamed rice or quinoa. The grains will soak up the delicious sauce and make for a filling dish. If you are looking for a lighter option, consider serving it over a bed of mixed greens or spiralized zucchini for a fresh salad. You can also add some nuts, like cashews or almonds, for an extra crunch and flavor. To switch things up, try adding different vegetables. Bell peppers, snap peas, or bok choy can be great additions that complement the shrimp well. For a spicy kick, toss in some red pepper flakes or sliced fresh chili peppers. If you love a bit of citrus, a squeeze of lime or lemon juice right before serving can brighten the flavors. Mix and match these suggestions to find your perfect combination and keep the meal exciting each time you make it.

Vegetable broth is a great substitute if you want a vegetarian option. You can also use water, but the flavor might be a bit milder.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
